Pedrosa undergoes successful operation

Dani Pedrosa has emerged from successful surgery in Barcelona, having elected to visit Dr. Xavier Mir directly from this week’s test session in Valencia.

Pedrosa headed to the Quiron Dexeus University Hospital where an osteosynthesis procedure was carried out on his right collarbone, injured in a crash at the 2011 French Grand Prix following a collision with Marco Simoncelli.

The operation was carried out by Dr. Xavier Mir and involved the removal of a plate and 13 screws. The Repsol Honda Team rider will now be required to rest for a period of up to two weeks in order for the wound to heal fully.
