Bradl left scratching head at TT
Sunday, 30 June 2013

Stefan Bradl has openly admitted that he and LCR Honda MotoGP had higher expectations than sixth place in Saturday’s Iveco TT Assen.

On Friday, Bradl had qualified in a career-best third place and from his front row slot reached as high as second at the start of the race. He then dropped back behind the leading battle and finished almost half a minute in arrears of fifth place.

"We definitely expected more," the German said bluntly. "I’m not really happy. It’s not a disaster, but we expected more than sixth position today and the gap is definitely too big.

"Somehow I was losing too much under braking at the beginning and was not really able to keep up with the pace. Then it was a really lonely race. I was able to manage the gap to the guys behind be but we expected more - especially after a good weekend."

The 2011 Moto2™ World Champion will now regroup for his home Grand Prix, taking place at the Sachsenring in two weekends’ time.
