Bradl looking for "a few more tenths" with LCR Honda MotoGP

Thursday, 28 February 2013

Stefan Bradl was upbeat as Sepang testing drew to a close on Thursday afternoon, despite the inclement weather that again disrupted two days. However, the LCR Honda MotoGP rider does admit that he is yet to be fully satisfied with his bike’s pace.

Although teams were able to use the track from 10am local time, Bradl would not appear for almost a further four hours on Thursday after heavy overnight rain had left the circuit sodden. Once he did make an appearance, a personal best lap of 2’01.309 became his fastest of the test, having already been delighted on Wednesday to close the gap to Ducati Team's Nicky Hayden and Andrea Dovizioso.

"It has been another productive test for us," the German began. "We still have to improve by a few tenths of a second but we made good progress with the new bike anyway.

"We found some interesting front suspension settings, which allowed us to increase the front tyre feeling, and some new traction control maps to gain a bit more drive at corner exits. I am looking forward to discovering the new circuit in Texas and continuing with our bike development."

As mentioned by Bradl, LCR will head to Texas’ Circuit of the Americas for a private test from 12-14 March. The track will then host Round 2 of the MotoGP™ season on 21 April.
