Bradl to keep final day focus on race pace
Wednesday, 27 February 2013

Minor mistakes aside, Stefan Bradl enjoyed another productive day as MotoGP™ testing continued on Wednesday. The LCR Honda MotoGP rider finished up in seventh position but is now eager to improve his longer-run speed.

Ahead of his second campaign in the premier class this year, the German’s best lap of 2’01.485 was almost half a second quicker than he had been 24 hours earlier, even though he found himself three spots further down the classification.

“In general it was positive,” Bradl told motogp.com in the paddock. “Of course we’re a little off the pace and not as fast as we would like to be, but basically our main target was to be faster on all tyres so we didn’t use a lot of tyres.

“Towards the end I did make a couple of mistakes during my fast run, but we were still using old tyres for improving our race setup; that was our main target and turned out quite positive because I was able to put in good times.”

Although he enjoys seeing his name towards the top of the timesheets, even in testing, the 23-year-old’s main objective for Thursday is to improve race pace.
