Folger injures wrist in motocross accident

Tuesday, 11 June 2013

Jonas Folger has sustained injury to his right wrist following a motocross accident in Italy.

After finishing sixth at Mugello two weekends ago, the Mapfre Aspar Team Moto3 rider suffered the fall in Mantova on Wednesday. The 19-year-old was taken to the local hospital where x-rays were carried out and the wrist injury was confirmed.

"With the bad luck I had last Wednesday, I had a silly fall and hurt myself," the German explains. "It appears as though I have cracked a bone in my right wrist, so I’m resting it in order to recover as soon as possible. I hurts a little, but it is getting better every day."

Folger will assess his fitness during Friday’s opening practice session in Barcelona.
