Folger not thinking about the title

Folger not thinking about the title
Wednesday, 27 March 2013

Jonas Folger insists that he will adopt a race-by-race lookout across the Moto3™ season, as opposed to maintaining a sole focus on the world championship title. On Tuesday, motogp.com caught up with the German as Aspar launched their bikes for 2013.

Last year, Folger impressed by winning the Czech Grand Prix as well as notching up a further three podium finishes in Indianapolis, Aragon and Sepang. However he also went through inconsistent spells and finished outside the top ten on nine occasions.

“We feel really strong and (this year’s) testing has been the best testing I’ve ever had,” Folger said in Valencia on Tuesday night. “Everything is prepared for Qatar and I think we can go there relaxed. There was a lot of rain for testing, but we tested everything we needed to and the bike is ready.

“Of course consistency will be important, but I’m not concentrating too much on the championship. We will just try to do our job, race by race, and then we will see.”

In the final pre-season test at Jerez, the Mapfre Aspar Team Moto3 rider finished fifth overall as Spain’s Luis Salom led the way for Red Bull KTM Ajo.
