Thursday, 27 June 2013

The one-off helmet worn by Jorge Lorenzo en route to victory in the Catalan Grand Prix, complete with design by Anna Vives, has raised over €27,000 in an online auction.

The 'Graffiti' design was completed in the weeks running up to the Barcelona race, in which Lorenzo would triumph for the third time. Immediately after the Grand Prix, the MotoGP™ World Champion revealed that the helmet would go up for sale.

Following a ten-day auction in which a total of 172 bids were put forward, the process came to a close at midday on Thursday with €27,101 being the final total. All proceeds will go to Spain’s Fundacion Itinerarium charity, which takes care of those with Down Syndrome.
