Juan Martinez expands suspension expertise in Spain
Wednesday, 22 May 2013

Ducati Team crew chief Juan Martinez has taken a further step into the business world away from the track by becoming the official importer of Öhlins suspensions in Spain, with a MotoGP™ star-studded open evening kicking off the new venture.

Andreani-MHS is the name of the new business venture formed off the back of the successful Italian suspension company Andreani, led by Giuseppe Andreani, and Martinez’s existing suspension company MHS. Andreani, an ex World Motocross rider, and Martinez, with over 15-years experience in the MotoGP World Championship, are providing suspension services for all types of motorcycle as well as cars, across both on-road and off-road racing or road-going platforms.

The company already has a heavy involvement in the World Superbike Championship, EMXS, World Enduro Championship, and supports numerous riders in the Moto2™ and Moto3™ classes.

An open evening on Tuesday this week in the workshop situated on the outskirts of Barcelona with riders of present and past featuring Sete Gibernau, Alex Criville, Toni Elias, Toni Bou and Laia Sanz marked the inauguration of Andreani-MHS.

Andreani commented: "After having the opportunity to speak with Juan I knew immediately that he was the perfect person to start something with in Spain. The priority of the Iberian Andreani-MHS venture is to create specialized centres in the set-up of suspensions throughout Spain for Öhlins, to assist riders in different national championships in all specialties, giving technical assistance, and creating a network of highly qualified sales people to advise users before and after acquisition."

For his part, Martinez, having specialized in suspensions since his debut in 1994, said: "From my first encounter with Giuseppe I immediately saw a world of possibilities. I think the combination of our companies gives me the possibility to leverage their expertise in a sector that has made me grow as a professional. I felt I had to be part of the family Öhlins."
