Khairuddin to proceed with checks on wrist

Wednesday, 10 April 2013

Zulfahmi Khairuddin has confirmed that he will keep an appointment with ISN for his injured wrist to be examined on Friday.

The Malaysian rider - who finished sixth in the opening Moto2™ race of the campaign at the Commercial Bank Grand Prix of Qatar - is carrying an injury that was first picked up on the weekend of last year’s Catalan Grand Prix, then aggravated in a following incident during pre-season testing earlier in 2013.

“Though Fahmi did not complain about the wrist, we are not taking anything for granted,” Datuk Razlan Razali, Chief Executive Officer of the Sepang International Circuit, explained. “As part of his management team, we have advised him to have further checks with ISN this Friday.”

Khairuddin’s ride to sixth place at Losail featured a rise of five positions, as the Red Bull KTM Ajo rider had started 11th on the grid for the evening race.
