Technomag carXpert has confirmed that Malaysia’s Zaqhwan Zaidi will replace the injured Randy Krummenacher for this weekend’s 14th round of the Moto2™ season.

Krummenacher is out of action for the three ‘flyaway’ races - beginning in Malaysia this weekend followed by the Australian and Japanese Grands Prix - following a crash at Silverstone. Last time out in Aragón, the replacement was Switzerland’s Robin Mulhauser, whereas this time Zaidi makes his World Championship debut at home.

"We had two options here in Malaysia: either no-one to replace Randy or find a local rider," explains Team Manager Fred Corminboeuf.

"This second solution seemed better because, in doing so, we are giving a young rider an opportunity to experience the Moto2™ World Championship and to ride in front of his home crowd. It is great for both the team and the rider.

"Of course, we will be thinking about Randy Krummenacher this weekend. We wish to have him back in his place in the box as soon as possible."

18-year old rider Zaidi started racing in 2009 and won a four-hour Endurance race at Suzuka last year. In 2013 he has been participating in the Petronas AAM Malaysian Club Prix Championship and in the Petronas Asia Road Racing Championship.
