RW Racing GP launches in Netherlands

Friday, 15 March 2013

The RW Racing GP Moto3™ team launched its 2013 project in The Netherlands on Thursday morning. New riders Jakub Kornfeil and Jasper Iwema presented their bikes, joined by former Formula 1 driver Robert Doornbos.

For the season ahead, the Dutch team will contest the Moto3 campaign with a pair of Kalex KTMs. Thursday's presentation was staged at the headquarters of team sponsor GAMMA.

"This is our third year," begins team owner Roelof Waninge. "We had two excellent seasons with Luis Salom coming eighth and second in the championship. For this season, we hope to be in top eight with Jakub Kornfeil and top 15 with Jasper Iwema."

"I am really happy my management and RW Racing GP found each other," Iwema adds. "It is nice to be able to explain what I want in my own language. The team, the bike: this is a perfect package to get good results. I have been working hard over the winter. I spent two months in Spain, training every day with motocross and supermoto bikes; that way I have improved my riding technique and feeling with a motorbike. It paid off immediately in the first tests we had."

Teammate Kornfeil set his 2013 objective as regular podium finishes en route to his desired top eight championship finish by the time the season ends in November.
