Desguaces La Torre SAG’s Marcel Schrötter is out of the Valencia test, after his bike was too badly damaged in a crash yesterday.

The German, who fortunately walked away unhurt from the high-speed crash in the second to last turn yesterday, will return to action in Jerez next week. His Kalex was so heavily damaged, with his team deciding today that it wasn’t repairable for today’s or tomorrow’s session.

Schrötter commented after the crash yesterday: "We started the test journey looking forward a base configuration with which work the rest of the event. During the morning we changed some adjustments to get a good position on the bike. From the beginning I noticed how easy the Kalex makes the work, as soon as you get a good lap time it’s easy to repeat it and this helps a lot to progress quickly on the track. When this first part of the plan was concluded I wanted to increase my lap pace little by little. When I felt really confident on the bike I realized that the front wheel did a pair of rebounds, and when I was at the second to last corner I lost the front, crashing almost a 204 km/h. Fortunately I’m fine but the bike is not."
