Terol confidence boosted ahead of 2013

Nico Terol’s optimism has been renewed ahead of the new Moto2™ season, with the Spaniard having enjoyed a particularly upbeat pre-season period.

Last year saw the Alicante rider progress to Moto2, having claimed the final 125 title in dominant fashion a year earlier. His 2012 year was one of frustration, commitment and education, but ended on a positive note as he finished on the rostrum in Valencia.

“Having a podium in Moto2 in Valencia was perfect for me and I’m now more confident for this year,” the self-assured Mapfre Aspar Team Moto2 rider told motogp.com. “I’m ready for this new year.

“We’ve had a lot of rain in testing but my feeling with the bike is better this year. In Valencia and Jerez, with dry conditions, I was fast; and in Jerez, with wet conditions, I was always in the top five. My objective for the year is to go step-by-step and race by race, but it’s important to keep finishing in the top five.”

Terol has been part of the MotoGP™ community since as early as 2004, when he made his debut in a one-off Valencia appearance at the age of 16.
