Came IodaRacing Project takes to the streets of Rome

The spectacle attracted crowds in their hundreds as Danilo Petrucci - a fully-qualified policeman in Italy - became the first rider to take his racing machine down the historic roads, taking in sights such as the Piazza Venezia and Via del Corso. Also in attendance were Czech MotoGP™ rookie Lukáš Pešek and France’s Johann Zarco, who is contesting the Moto2™ category with the same team.

The initiative launched by the squad has been christened ‘Ioda Your Project’, allowing followers to gain closer access to the outfit while earning their chance to place signatures on the bike fairings.

“To see our bike riding through the streets of Rome was incredible,” commented Giampiero Sacchi, Director of IodaRacing Ltd. “This is the result of a great job by the marketing and communication teams involved in Ioda Your Project. The launch of this scheme could not have been better.”

“It was very exciting to ride through the centre of Rome!” Petrucci added, as he prepares for his second MotoGP campaign on CRT machinery. “It was like riding for the first time all over again, as I usually go through the centre of Rome on foot! This is something I’ll be able to tell my grandchildren in the future: that I was the first MotoGP rider to take his own bike through the city.”

At the end of last season Petrucci celebrated a career-best result in the Grand Prix of Valencia, where he ended a chaotic race in eighth position.
