Miller signs for Red Bull KTM Ajo

Friday, 13 September 2013

Australia’s Jack Miller has signed with leading Moto3™ squad Red Bull KTM Ajo ahead of the 2014 season. He will move to Aki Ajo’s team as current championship leader Luis Salom makes the step up to Moto2™.

The contract between Miller and Ajo was signed at Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli on Thursday evening, ahead of this weekend’s round of the championship.

“I am very happy to have signed for what is, in my opinion, the best team in Moto3,” says Miller, currently 18 years of age and racing for Caretta Technology – RTG. “Joining this team will give me the opportunity to fight for the Moto3 title next season. I can't wait to get started with this new adventure in my sporting career and I am sure that there will be a good relationship developed with my new team – one which already exists.”

“We know how important it is to maintain our focus on the fight for the 2013 Moto3 title, but obviously at this stage of the season it is normal to be preparing things for the next campaign,” adds Team Manager Ajo. “We are very happy to have signed Jack Miller to ride for us next season. I think that everyone has seen that he is one of the biggest talents for the future in the World Championship. We are very proud to have Jack as one of Red Bull KTM Ajo's riders for 2014.”

Miller - who hails from Townsville, Queensland in north-east Australia - joined the World Championship in the 125 tier in 2011, which became Moto3™ one year later. He is yet to claim a podium finish, but sits seventh in the current standings.
