Rabat asserts pressure in intermediate Warm Up

The Moto2™ pole man at the Commercial Bank Grand Prix of Qatar, Esteve Rabat (Marc VDS Racing Team), topped the timesheet in Warm Up to send out a warning to his intermediate class rivals.

Rabat led the way with a time around half a second off his pole setting lap, with Thomas Luthi (Interwetten Paddock Moto2) two tenths behind him and Takaaki Nakagami (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia) a third of a second down.

Alex De Angelis (Tasca Racing Moto2), Xavier Simeon (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) and Dominique Aegerter (Technomag carXpert) were all towards the business end of the Warm Up timesheet in top six slots.

The top ten was rounded out by Simone Corsi (NGM Forward Racing), Mika Kallio Marc (VDS Racing Team), Jordi Torres (Mapfre Aspar Team Moto2) and Mattia Pasini  (NGM Forward Racing) - all within a second of Rabat.

There was a crash without major consequence for Sam Lowes (Speed Up) who finished 15th.
