A good start for Iannone and Pramac in Texas

A good start for Iannone and Pramac in Texas

It was a solid first day of riding at the Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas on Friday for Andrea Iannone as the Pramac Racing rider lapped fourth fastest overall.

The young Italian, who like World Champion Marc Marquez graduated to MotoGP™ last season, lapped 1.179s behind the pace setting Spaniard on the timesheet - making good use of a soft tyre late in FP2.

Iannone used the first session of free practice to get back in tune with his bike before improving his lap times and riding more consistently in the afternoon.

“Today was a good day and we did much better than last year,” said Iannone on Friday evening. “I managed to do a good job with the team so I think that tomorrow I can improve my time again. I used the soft tyre at the end of the session but I didn’t take advantage of it’s full potential.”

On the other side of the Pramac garage Yonny Hernandez (Energy T.I. Pramac Racing) put his Ducati GP13 into 15th place on the timesheet with a lap time of 2'06.376.

He stated, “Today ended in a positive way for me as I was able to improve constantly. I was unable to take advantage of the soft tyre in my last run due to two errors, but I have a good general feeling with the bike and tomorrow I will do my best as always.”
