Herrin to miss Argentina race due to collarbone break

AirAsia Caterham Moto Racing Team rider Josh Herrin will miss the Gran Premio Red Bull de la República Argentina having injured himself in an incident whilst training at home in Georgia, USA.

Herrin was training on a Supermoto bike when the incident occurred and he was immediately taken to hospital where it was confirmed that he had broken his collarbone in two places and would need surgery to repair the damage.

He successfully underwent surgery on Monday at a hospital in California. Caterham will not replace Herrin for the Argentine round and will run only Johann Zarco.

Herrin commented, “I was really excited to go to Argentina and I just want to say sorry to the team, sponsors and the fans that I won’t be there. I wish the team all the best and I can’t wait to see everyone again and get back on my bike soon.”
