Folger the pace setter ahead of Argentina qualifying

The Moto2™ riders wrapped up the Saturday morning action at Termas de Rio Hondo and it was Jonas at the head of the timesheet, followed by Esteve Rabat and Maverick Viñales in the top three.

The AGR Team rider recorded a best time of 1’44.203, putting him a significant 0.596s margin ahead of Rabat (Marc VDS Racing), with Viñales (Pons HP 40) a 0.624s gap behind Folger.

Jonhann Zarco (AirAsia Caterham) and Mattia Pasini (NGM Forward Racing) were also in the top five, both within 0.713s of Folger.

Mika Kallio (Marc VDS Racing), Luis Salom (Pons HP 40), Xavier Simeon (Federal Oil Gresini), Julian Simon (Italtrans Racing Team) and Jordi Torres (Mapfre Aspar Team) completed the top ten, all within 1.044s of the top spot.

There were crashes for Roman Ramos (Speed Up) and Thitipong Warokorn (APH PTT The Pizza SAG) in the session though fortunately neither rider was seriously hurt. Ramos’ crash was deemed to have been caused by Zarco who was given two penalty points after FP3 by Race Direction.
