Impressive Iannone finishes the day second

Pramac Racing’s Andrea Iannone showed some good pace on Friday at Le Mans to finish second overall after two practice sessions.

The Italian rider has had a strong start to his second MotoGP™ campaign with three top ten finishes, before crashing out in Jerez. This weekend he is looking to bounce back from the disappointment of that DNF in the south of Spain and he showed his determination on Friday as he trailed pace setter Marc Marquez by just 0.007s in FP2.

Iannone’s best results at Le Mans are two fourth places in the Moto2™ races of 2010 and 2012, whilst last year he was 11th in France in his rookie year in the MotoGP class.

Reflecting on Friday’s work he said, “I’ve improved by 1.5s in the afternoon and I’m very happy with this practice. But I have a bit of a problem with the bike on braking. Because its very difficult to stop the bike. But the machine is good for acceleration and turning and the result is not so bad.”

“The bike is improving but all the bikes are improving, so the results are good this year. I want to check the data with my team as it will be important to improve again tomorrow.”
