Vazquez leads the way on Saturday morning

The Monster Energy Grand Prix de France action commenced with Efren Vazquez (SAXOPRINT-RTG) on top of the FP3 Moto3™ timesheet, in front of Isaac Viñales (Calvo Team) and Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM AJo).

A last minute lap of 1’42.847 had Vazquez just 0.198s ahead of fellow Spaniard Viñales. Miller was third and 0.253s down on Vazquez.

Teammates Alex Rins (Estrella Galicia 0,0) and Alex Marquez (Estrella Galicia 0,0) rounded out the top five as good weather continued to grace the French track. They were both within 0.368s of the leader.

The top ten was completed by Niklas Ajo (Avant Tecno Husqvarna Ajo), Miguel Oliveira (Mahindra Racing), Alexis Masbou (Ongetta-Rivacold), Danny Kent (Red Bull Husqvarna Ajo) and Francesco Bagnaia (SKY Racing Team VR46).

There were crashes for Eric Granando (Calvo Team) and Ana Carrasco (RW Racing) after the two touched at Turn Eight. Both riders were unhurt. Niccolo Antonelli (Junior Team GO&FUN) dropped his bike in the gravel after running on and teammate Enea Bastianini (Junior Team GO&FUN) also suffered a high side at Turn Three. John McPhee (SAXOPRINT-RTG) had a small low side towards the end of the session but fortunately all riders were unhurt.
