Marquez prepares for racing with best Warm Up lap

The MotoGP™ action at the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France commenced on Sunday morning with Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda Team) leading Andrea Iannone (Pramac Racing) and Valentino Rossi (Movistar Yamaha MotoGP) at the head of the Warm Up timesheet.

Marquez is the first rider to start from pole at six or more successive MotoGP races since Casey Stoner in 2008 and he showed his pace again to top the WUP timesheet with a 1’33.369 best lap.

Behind the front three Movistar Yamaha MotoGP’s Jorge Lorenzo (+0.352s) and Monster Yamaha Tech3’s Pol Espargaro (+0.547s) were also in the top five.

Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team), Alvaro Bautista (GO&FUN Honda Gresini), Stefan Bradl (LCR Honda MotoGP), Cal Crutchlow (Ducati Team) and Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team) rounded out the top ten.

Frenchman Mike di Meglio (Avintia Racing) did not have an ideal morning ahead of his home race, with a second crash of the weekend. He was not seriously harmed in the accident.
