Moto2™ and Moto3™ riders to test at Mugello

Moto2™ and Moto3™ riders to test at Mugello

Following this weekend's Gran Premio d'Italia TIM at Tuscany's picturesque Mugello circuit many of the teams and riders from the Moto2™ and Moto3™ classes will remain in Italy for a single day of testing at the 5.2km track on Tuesday.

In the Moto2™ category the likes of Mugello race winner Tito Rabat (Marc VDS Racing) and teammate Mika Kallio will be looking to explore new setup directions on their Kalex machines. The championship contenders will also be joined on track improving rookie Jonas Folger (AGR Team), on the back of another podium for the German rider on Sunday.

Amongst other riders Gino Rea (AGT Rea Racing) will also be attending the one day. The Briton is hoping that the test will allow him to find the last tenths he needs in order to fight for points. Fellow Suter riders Nico Terol and Jordi Torres (Mapfre Aspar Team) are testing at Mugello as they look to rediscover their 2013 form.

Meanwhile, championship front runners from the Moto3™ class, such as Jack Miller (Red Bull KTM Ajo), Sunday’s race winner Romano Fenati (Sky Racing Team VR46, Alex Marquez and Alex Rins (Estrella Galicia 0,0) will also be in attendance - with Miller and Marquez having fortunately escaped injury in their last lap Sunday crash.

The Estrella Galicia 0,0 riders recently had a private test post Jerez and hope that the Mugello test will see a similar step forward.

The Mahindras of San Carlo Team Italia and the factory team will be continuing to test their new winged fairing. The day of testing will also be beneficial for rookies Karel Hanika (Red Bull KTM Ajo), Enea Bastianini (Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3) and Hafiq Azmi (SIC-Ajo) as they continue to learn their KTM machines.

In total 34 riders from the two categories will be on track during the day.
