Folger still weighing up Moto2™ progress

Jonas Folger is looking forward to the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland, with the AGR Moto2™ rider having had some ups and downs in his debut season in the intermediate class of the MotoGP™ World Championship.

Folger has made an impact in his debut season in the Moto2™ class, taking podiums at Jerez and Mugello in third and pole at Le Mans.

He heads into his home race at the Sachsenring in ninth position in the standings as the 20 year-old has banked 47 points and is the highest placed German in Moto2. Aside from his two podiums, however, Folger has registered just one other top ten finish thus far this year and he is unsure what to expect at his home round.

“It’s hard to give any predictions in my situation, it’s my first year in Moto2”, Folger told “I’ve never ridden a Moto2™ race at the Sachsenring. But I am looking forward to the weekend as your home GP is always is very special.”

“It might work out for me that there are just less slip streaming possibilities at the Sachsenring”, Folger added. “If I can ride constantly good lap times it might be possible to pull a gap. But as I said, it will be my first Moto2 race at the Sachsenring. It’s hard to assess.”
