Bradl second fastest on opening day

LCR Honda MotoGP’s Stefan Bradl finished second on the opening day of practice at the Hertz British Grand Prix.

Free Practice 1 saw Bradl in sixth, ahead of Movistar Yamaha MotoGP pair Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi. The LCR rider was the second Honda in the session as Marc Marquez (Repsol Honda) returned to dominating form. 1.024s separated Bradl from the reigning MotoGP™ World Champion.

The German rider was within half a second of Marc Marquez in Free Practice 2, a session that saw many of the Factory riders struggle to put in a quick time. Bradl halved the gap to Marquez at the front and was 0.3s ahead of Andrea Dovizioso (Ducati Team), who was third. Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa was in ninth and 0.8s behind the LCR rider.

“Today was a good day for us, we kept some tyres for the weekend and this afternoon I made a good lap time. I’m happy but for sure we have to improve on used tyres, we have to work as the traction is lacking and we are struggling a little on them,” commented Bradl.
