Riders put in the laps at Sepang test

A two day official test for the Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup riders has taken place at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

The young riders got their opportunity to test on the Sepang track which will host four of the five remaining races of the season. The riders’ performance was positively evaluated by Shell Advance Asia Talent Cup Director Alberto Puig.

"Basically I think we did a good job these two days here in Sepang. We had dry and wet conditions. The first day riders did 65 laps without any problem. For many of them it was their fist time on the Sepang track, lap times were not so bad for riding here for the first time and the track conditions were perfect.”

“Then we had some rain, so we could do some laps to understand the bike in wet conditions. Overall I think it was a good test for us, there were some crashes, but without any injury. From our point of view the test was good, we could understand many things of the bike. Now we have two weeks to analyse all the data and we will come back to Sepang to have two races on the weekend of 20-21st September", commented Puig.

The riders now have a 14 day break before the competition starts again. Remaining events in the calendar count with two races held at the Sepang International Circuit which will host the Malaysian Super Series on 21st September, one race in Motegi during the MotoGP Grand Prix of Japan on 12th October. The Sepang International Circuit will then welcome back all young riders for the last two races which will be run during the Shell Adavance Motorcyle Grand Prix of Malaysia on 26th October.

Immediately after the last race the Selection Event for the 2015 Season will be held at Sepang. Riders coming from Asia, Australia and New Zealand born between 1st January 1994 and 1st February 2002 today have the last chance to apply to participate in the Selection Event on the site.
