De Angelis and Alt with Iodaracing for next year

Octo Iodaracing Team are pleased to announce their riders for the 2015 season in the MotoGP™ and Moto2™ classes respectively - Alex De Angelis and Florian Alt.

In MotoGP Team Octo Iodaracing welcomes De Angelis, a rider with great experience in all three classes of the World Championship.

De Angelis began his career as a professional rider in 2000, riding a Honda 125, then in 2002 he raced with an Aprilia. The San Marino rider was one of the iconic riders for Aprilia also in 250cc, where he ran as the “official” factory rider from 2004 until 2007. Already a MotoGP rider since 2008, in 2009 he obtained his best result in the premier class with a second place in the GP of Indianapolis.

De Angelis has signed a two-year contract with the team and he will start working with Iodaracing at the test after the Grand Prix in Valencia.

He commented, “I am very happy that I have reached a two-year agreement with Team Octo Iodaracing. This enhances even more my decision to leave the Moto2 class to move back up to MotoGP. We will begin immediately by testing on Monday to see what our potential is. I want to thank Giampiero Sacchi for giving me this opportunity and for organizing everything in such a short time.”

In Moto2™, Alt will also join the Team Octo Iodaracing set-up. The German rider who had a great season in 2014 in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto2 championship, will be one of the rookies in the intermediate class in 2015. He has signed a one-year agreement with the team.

Alt stated, “I am excited and happy for this great opportunity. Iodaracing is the best team I could have for my debut in the Moto2 World Championship. I want to thank my sponsors and Giampiero Sacchi for giving me confidence, I will try to learn as quickly as possible, I can’t wait to get on it. ”

Team owner Sacchi added, “I am very pleased to have brought to Iodaracing two talented riders like Alex De Angelis and Florian Alt. At the same time I’m also glad I gave a chance to Danilo Petrucci to become a MotoGP rider. With Florian Alt, who has done very well in the CEV this year, we continue our challenge to improve the youth of motorcycling, while Alex de Angelis is a sensitive and talented rider, with whom we can deal with confidence, in the complex adventures of MotoGP.”
