IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia announce 2015 structure

IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia are pleased to announce their 2015 season line up in the Moto2™ class with two riders, as they continue to field Azlan Shah and Takaaki Nakagami.

Honda Team Asia was established in 2013 in order to strengthen racing in Asia and to provide an opportunity for young riders to challenge at World Championship level together with Honda.

Tadayuki Okada, IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia Team Principal, commented, “This is the second year since we established the team. We have challenged in the Moto2 class with two Asian riders, Shah and Nakagami, using the most competitive equipment, which the top teams use, in the 2014 season.”

“Regrettably, the 2014 season was a tough year for the team despite a good start in winter testing and the first ever podium of the team in Qatar, which was unfortunately disqualified. Since then we faced a difficult season to maintain good pace, and we’ve learned that this championship is not easy. I sincerely appreciate the cooperation of our main sponsors, IDEMITSU Kosan Co.,Ltd. and all technical sponsors. We seek to do our best to make a strong team and focus on gaining the place of Champion in the 2015 season.”
