Moto3 riders begin three day test in Jerez

South African rider Brad Binder was the fastest of the timed riders in Wednesday’s opening day of Moto3™ testing at Jerez.

In the new three rider line-up of the Red Bull KTM Ajo team Binder notched a 1’47.821 lap to outpace his new teammates Miguel Oliveira and Karel Hanika by 0.005s and 0.309s respectively, as they worked in the same box for the first time and locked out the top three spots on the timesheet.

Zulfahmi Khairuddin (Sepang International Circuit), Jakub Kornfeil (Sepang International Circuit) and Jules Danilo (Ongetta-Rivacold) all featured on track with Khairuddin and Kornfeil less than two seconds off Binder’s pace, whilst Danilo lapped only four times and was over eight seconds off the pace, unable to register a flying lap.

SKY Racing Team VR46’s Romano Fenati tested alongside new teammate Andrea Migno, but their lap times were not registered, as was the case for the exciting trio of Juanfran Guevara, Jorge Martin and Francesco Bagnaia in the revamped Mapfre Aspar Team Moto3 as they tried the Mahindra machine they are to use in 2015 for the first time.
