Rookie Martin fastest of Moto3™ riders in mixed conditions

Mapfre Aspar Team Moto3’s 2015 rookie Jorge Martin was the fastest of the lightweight class riders on track at Jerez, with rain affecting the Thursday test session in the south of Spain.

The 2014 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup champion Martin was on track with his new Mahindra machine for just the second time on Thursday and his best lap of 1’52.228 put him at the head of the timesheet.

His new colleague Francesco Bagnaia was just 0.047s behind him in second place as the Italian also adapts to the Mahindra.

Jakub Kornfeil (Sepang International Circuit) was third best, lapping 1.37s behind Martin, with Juanfran Guevara (Mapfre Aspar Team Moto3) in fourth.

Niccolo Antonelli (Ongetta-Rivacold) completed the top five, with none of the riders able to get close to the best Wednesday time set by South African rider Brad Binder (1’47.821) in drier conditions. The test continues for a final day on Friday.
