Fenati breaks collarbone in training

Sky Racing Team VR46 rider Romano Fenati has suffered a collarbone breakage during a training accident. The Italian sustained the injury to his left clavicle while riding Supermoto and will be undergoing a medical examination on Thursday.

Fenati suffered the fall last Sunday, 23 November while taking part in Supermoto at the ‘Stella’ Karting circuit in Monsampolo, Italy. The rider was quickly taken to the Madonna del Soccorso di San Benedetto hospital and then the Mazzoni de Ascoli Piceno hospital for a further medical check. The 18-year-old will undergo further checks this Thursday before moving into a rehabilitation phase with the injury.

Fenati had been set to take part in the Monza Rally event this weekend, but has now been ruled out due to the injury. The four-time Grand Prix winner of 2014 will then be hoping to recover in time for pre-season testing ahead of the 2015 Moto3™ campaign, having tested the new KTM machine in Jerez just two weeks ago.
