After seven years test rider Alex Hofmann and Aprilia are parting ways. The former MotoGP™ rider played a key role in developing the RSV4 Superbike and the bike for Aprilia’s MotoGP™ return. Starting in 2015 Hofmann will now prepare KTM’s MotoGP return scheduled for 2017.

"Unfortunately seven years of partnership are now officially coming to an end", Hofmann admits via the German website Speedweek.com. "Next year I will take my first steps for the KTM MotoGP project."

Hofmann’s development work with Aprilia culminated in three rider titles in the eni FIM World Superbike Championship: Max Biaggi (2010 and 2012) and Sylvain Guintoli (2014) took the glory. Furthermore the Italian manufacturer won four constructor titles in that series.
