Aprilia testing continues for Biaggi

Wednesday, 2 July 2014

Tuesday saw Aprilia and Max Biaggi continue their test work at Mugello, with the test set to conclude on Wednesday at midday.

The Italian rider who won four consecutive 250cc World titles from 1994-97 (the first three of those on Aprilia machinery) and the Italian factory worked hard again on Tuesday, with a best time of 1’51.200 on the ART MotoGP machine.

Completing 63 laps of the Tuscan track Biaggi tested set-up options and worked on the electronics of the bike.

Aprilia Racing manager Romano Albesiano gave a positive assessment of the session, saying, “From what we have seen today, we have reached a good level of performance, giving us the data to evaluate the changes we’ve made. The work is being carried out in two ways: Finding solutions that can be used immediately and starting to lay the foundations for long-term development. Max has confirmed what we already knew and has been effective in giving us directions on development work.”

“I'm quite satisfied,” confirmed Biaggi. “We worked methodically, evaluating many of the modifications that have been made and where it was necessary we approved validity of certain changes. The main objective of the test is to find some solutions that can help in the evolution of Aprilia bike.”
