Corsi hoping to win at Indianapolis

Simone Corsi scored a podium finish in the German Grand Prix on Sunday, marking the second time in 2014 that the Italian Moto2™ rider had finished in the top three. He now believes victory may be possible at the next event in Indianapolis.

Following the Sachsenring race, the World Championship heads into its customary mid-season break, with Corsi delighted to have finished third in Germany after passing World Championship leader Tito Rabat at the final corner of the race.

“An incredible race,” said the NGM Forward Racing rider, whose previous 2014 rostrum finish came in the form of second place at Le Mans. “My bike feels very good, but the race was very long with a difficult 29 laps. On the last lap, I pushed very hard to overtake Tito Rabat at the final corner. I am very happy with my second podium of the year. I want to thank all of my team and my sponsors.”

Heading towards the Indianapolis race, Round 10 of the season on Sunday 10 August, Corsi believes a maiden Moto2™ victory may be possible.

“The track is very beautiful and very fast,” the Roman begins to sum up. “Another podium could be possible, or even a first victory of the year.”

Although he is yet to win in Moto2™, Corsi is already a winner in the World Championship as he claimed five 125 class wins over the course of 2007 and 2008.
