Crutchlow builds family home in Mexico

Tuesday, 14 January 2014

During his holidays in Mexico this off-season, new Ducati Team recruit Cal Crutchlow assisted a needy family in constructing their home.

Following his marriage to long-time partner Lucy on Sunday 5 January in La Jolla, California, the couple crossed the Rio Grande to visit the Mexican peninsula.

One of the objectives of the trip was to join in on the ‘Homes of Hope’ scheme, helping to build houses for families in need. As opposed to a symbolic collaboration, this was somewhat more hands-on as the rider literally took to constructing the building.

“Today was a very humbling day for Lucy and I,” Crutchlow commented on Twitter. “We had the opportunity to go and build a house in Mexico for a family that never had a proper home. We thought after having such a special week that it is just as important to give back! We loved it!”

For 2014, his fourth season in the top echelon of MotoGP™, Crutchlow makes the switch to Ducati Team from Monster Yamaha Tech3.
