Hernandez hoping for Desmosedici GP15 next year

Hernandez Hoping for GP15
Friday, 25 July 2014

Pramac Ducati’s Colombian rider Yonny Hernandez is hoping that his positive season so far will earn him a GP15 bike for next season in the Italian satellite outfit.

During World Ducati Week, following the Sachsenring, he told motogp.com: “I think it’s a positive season because I’m always fighting for the top ten, fighting for the points. The last two races were difficult races, but for me it’s a really good opportunity with Pramac Ducati to stay at the top, and I’ll keep working hard to stay further up front.”

He also spoke about his on-going contract negotiations with the Pramac team, with which he hopes to stay with the latest machinery. This year, Hernandez is on last year’s GP13 model, whereas teammate Andrea Iannone has the current GP14 bike. Yet with his performances so far, he is hoping to be on an equal footing next year as the other three Ducati riders.

“I think for next year I want to ride the bike of the year, the 2015. But I don’t know. I’ve discussed my contract for next year, and at the moment I want to go with the 2015… I know on a better Ducati I can be further in front.”
