Three final days of testing in Jerez (11th-13th March) will bring the 2014 preseason to a close for the smaller classes before the teams and riders head to Qatar for the season opener.

Having already collectively visited Jerez and Valencia during February and with some teams testing privately, in addition to the presence of the Mapfre Aspar Team and Marc VDS Racing Team at the Phillip Island Tyre Safety Test, the riders are now making their final tweaks for racing.

In fact, following their visit to Australia the preseason is over for Marc VDS pair Esteve Rabat and Mika Kallio, along with Aspar duo Nico Terol and Jordi Torres, as they will not be present at Jerez. So this is a final chance for the other prominent riders in the class to underline their race winning potential before the season commences.

Interwetten Paddock Moto2 rider Thomas Luthi could be a title contender this year having slowly regained his form in 2013 after a heavy crash in a preseason test at Valencia a year ago. Luthi is back towards his best shape and wants to start the new campaign on song.

Young Spanish talents Maverick Viñales (the Moto3™ World Champion) and Luis Salom are of course debutants this year and with their new team Tuenti HP 40 will be hoping to get closer to the top of the timesheet before the first Grand Prix.

However, the likes of Takaaki Nakagami (IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia), Julian Simon (Italtrans Racing Team), Xavier Simeon (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2) and Dominique Aegerter (Technomag CarXpert), are likely to be standing in the way of Viñales and Salom in the top ten.

Briton Sam Lowes will take his opportunity to get more track time on the Speed Up Moto2™ machine, whilst the exciting new AirAsia Caterham Moto Racing Team finalise their preparations with Frenchman Johann Zarco and American Josh Herrin.

Also attending this test is Qatari rider Mashel Al Naimi preparing for his QMMF Racing Team wild card appearance at round one in Qatar, whilst Ricky Cardus is a Tech 3 substitute for the recuperating Alex Mariñelarena – who crashed heavily in private testing at the end of February.

Meanwhile, in Moto3™ riders such as Jack Miller and his young Czech teammate Karel Hanika (Red Bull KTM Ajo), Calvo Team trio Eric Granado, Jakub Kornfeil and Isaac Viñales and Husqvarna equipped duo Danny Kent and Niklas Ajo will be pushing for top five prominence.

Keep an eye out too for Junior Team GO&FUN Moto3 rider Niccolo Antonelli’s lap times and the progress of SKY Racing Team By VR46 colleagues Romano Fenati and Francesco Bagnaia, in addition to the pace of Mahindra’s Miguel Oliveira.

Young Spaniard Alex Rins returns from a right wrist operation to join his Estrella Galicia 0,0 teammate Alex Marquez on their Honda Moto3™ machines, both hoping the bike is soon up to a competitive level.

Throughout the test, live timing and video content from the circuit will be available on motogp.com.

The Jerez Moto2™/Moto3™ test will run to the following timetable:

Tuesday 11th March 10:00-18:00 (GMT +1 hour)

Wednesday 12th March 10:00-18:00 (GMT +1 hour)

Thursday 13th March 10:00-18:00 (GMT +1 hour)
