MotorLand awaits FIM CEV Repsol riders

Thursday, 5 June 2014

This weekend the third round of the FIM CEV Repsol will be held. After Le Mans, where only Moto3™ riders participated, the Aragon circuit - over five thousand meters long, filled with blind curves and sharp drops – will host over a hundred experienced riders.

In Moto3™, the overwhelming home victory of Fabio Quartararo (FRA-Honda), coupled with the unfortunate fall of closest rival María Herrera, has left him with a considerable 24-point lead in the standings. Following him are Gabriel Rodrigo (SPA-KTM) and María Herrera (SPA-Honda), with Hiroki Ono (JPN-TSR), Andrea Migno (ITA-Kalex) and Jorge Navarro (SPA-Ioda) coming next, all on 37 points.

The fight for the leadership in Moto2™ continues, with two races scheduled. Leader Edgar Pons (SPA-Kalex) will have to hold off teammate Jesko Raffin (SWI-Kalex) as when he snatched victory in the last moment in Jerez. The Swiss rider knows how to win on this track, as he showed last season. Rounding out the top positions are Florian Alt (GER-Kalex) and Alan Techer (FRA- 610 Mistral). In the Superstock 600 category, Jorge Arroyo Caro (SPA-Yamaha) is at the top of the results table.

After a break of more than a month, the Superbike riders will also be back in action in the fight for points. Two races are scheduled in this category. Carmelo Morales (SPA-Kawasaki), Santiago Barragán (SPA-Kawasaki) and Iván Silva (SPA-BMW) will be working hard to keep up the good results of the opening round. Meanwhile, Finnish rider Eeki Kuparinen must defend his lead in the private Superbike privateers category at an unfamiliar circuit.
