Idemitsu Honda Team Asia rider Takaaki Nakagami and Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman completed 73 laps and 88 laps respectively at Jerez test.
On the first day of testing, IDEMITSU Honda Team Asia rider Takaaki Nakagami was forced to go back into pit due to red flag for a sudden rainstorm. Then, on the second and third day of the test, he suffered from the tricky track conditions finishing in fourth place.
Teammate Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman rode with dry tires on day 2 - session 1. Despite the bad weather conditions, he ended the 3 day test in sixth place, with 1:45.729 lap time, only 0.9s off his best lap 1:44.810 in 2014.
#30 Takaaki Nakagami:
“I have a little bit worry about dry setting for the opening race next week in Qatar because I could only ride all sessions in wet conditions through three days. However, I did many laps to set up, considering wet race in the future as I had suffered to get my pace on the wet condition race last year. To first race in Qatar, we continue to work in base of last year’s data and holding meetings with team. I’m ready to work hard for the victory with team!”
#25 Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman:
“Thanks to 2 weeks hard training, I’m sure that my riding skill and style is improving! Even though all three days test took place under the bad weather conditions and it was very difficult, my feeling with the machine in wet setting was very good. I want to bring championship points back to Team having good result at the opening race in Qatar. I am really looking forward to go back to Losail Circuit.”
Tadayuki Okada (Team Manager):
“We completed the final preseason test and found very difficult three days because of intermittent rain. I am really disappointed that we did not have good opportunity to try the result of 2weeks hard training on the track due to bad weather conditions. At first race of 2015 in Qatar, I want to show how developed 2 rider’s skill in performance and we will do more than our best for the victory!”
