Passion on parade: convoy fires up the #SpanishGP

Engines on in Jerez as thousands of bikes parade from the track to the city

Track action gets underway on Friday at the Gran Premio Red Bull de España, but engines were fired up before pitlane opened as the pre-event saw thousands of bikes storm the streets in a parade from the track to the center of the city – with Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda Team) there to greet them.

More than 3,500 bikes took part in the event on Thursday evening, with an exhibition by the ‘Eagle Convoy’ getting the parade in gear before the bikes set off from the track led by the BMW Safety Car. Destination? Plaza del Mamelón, a square in the center of Jerez de la Frontera and the location of the City Hall.

Waiting there to welcome the thousands of bikers were reigning Champion Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa, as well as Dorna CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta and figures from local government as the town once again proved an incredible host for the hundreds of thousands of the MotoGP™ faithful who descend on Jerez every year.

A race weekend at Spanish GP has an atmosphere like no other, and 2017 is sure to be no different – with the take over already in gear!
