Lorenzo: “We had a lot of problems”

A fourth straight MotoGP™ victory in 2015 for Jorge Lorenzo has him reduce the Championship gap.

The Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya saw yet another start to finish victory for Movistar Yamaha’s Jorge Lorenzo who has now led for 103 successive laps in MotoGP™, a new record. This performance puts Lorenzo just one point behind teammate Valentino Rossi in the World Standings.

It was not as easy as it would appear for the Mallorcan, higher track temperatures saw him have to fight to maintain his pace in the race while combating increased bike movement and a closing front end. Lorenzo overcame the problems and held off Rossi who was able to close the gap to just under one second.

Jorge Lorenzo: “You know it’s very hot, we haven’t had these temperatures all weekend long so it was hard to repeat the pace from yesterday morning. Valentino improved a bit in these conditions and I got a little bit worse. We had a lot of problems in acceleration and the bike moving a lot, the front closing, but I could stay focused. Valentino pushed me so hard but finally its been worth it.”
