Navarro: “We have adapted fast”

Navarro: “We have adapted fast”

Despite having never raced at the Motul TT Assen, Jorge Navarro demonstrated a strong pace on the opening day of practice.

A strong third position was Navarro and his Estrella Galicia 0,0 team’s reward for half a season of hard work. It has taken time to learn the Honda Moto3™ bike and the new tracks on the World Championship calendar but a strong race last time out in Catalunya has boosted the Spaniard’s confidence. An improved base setting now allows he and the team to start at a more competitive point each weekend.

Between the two sessions Navarro was able to improve by almost a second thanks to the weather conditions remaining dry. Friday may offer a new challenge for the Spanish rider as rain is predicted to fall.

Jorge Navarro: “Today was a very good day, although it’s a new circuit for us we have adapted fast as we’re working very hard. The bike is handling well and I think so far we’ve adapted it to suit the circuit well. In the first Free Practice we aimed to familiarise ourselves with the layout then we worked with different tyre compounds in the afternoon session. We’ve done a good job and we ran a good pace so I’m very satisfied.”
