Bradl undergoes surgery on injured Scaphoid

Stefan Bradl will undergo surgery on his fractured scaphoid on Monday following his crash at the Motul TT Assen.

The German was the fastest Open rider during the race before he suddenly lost the rear and crashed. After the first medical investigations at the Clinica Mobile, Dr. Michele Zasa confirmed the fracture of the right scaphoid. The German immediately left the Netherlands to Germany for further investigations. Bradl will be operated in Augsburg, the city where he was born, by Dr. Stefan Krischak, a hand specialist surgeon.

Stefan Bradl: “Too bad, my race ended earlier than expected when I was leading the Open class and I was close to the points zone. I lost the rear and I could not do anything to prevent the fall. Unfortunately I broke my right scaphoid in the impact and I propably will have to undergo surgery to reduce the fracture.”
