Lowes: “We should have been on the second row”

Speed Up Racing’s Sam Lowes will have to start the Czech GP from 13th after a broken rear linkage ended his Qualifying session early.

Lowes had been seventh fastest on the combined timesheets after Free Practice but was hoping to improve during Qualifying to at least secure a second row start. It was not meant to be for the British rider though as after missing the first ten minutes of the session with technical issues, he was forced to stop on track after his rear linkage broke with 10 minutes remaining, ending his efforts prematurely.

Sam Lowes: “We have not got such a bad pace, maybe not the same as front row but sure, we should have been on the second row! Tomorrow I will fight to do a good job and get some points! This track and conditions are proving tricky for all of the Speed Up riders unfortunately, but my team are working well and tomorrow we can do something for sure!”
