Marquez Blog: On the road to Silverstone

In his latest official blog for boxrepsol.com Marc Marquez looks ahead to the Octo British Grand Prix:

Hello everyone,

Following the good result in Brno, this week I’ve been indulging my passion hahaha…that as you all know is enjoying motorbikes to the fullest. So I’ve got down to training hard, on my bicycle as well as the supermoto.

Last Friday I had the chance to meet the youngest riders of the Monlau Repsol Technical School. Honestly, every time I see them in action, I see a great future ahead for them, so get ready because they’re coming with a lot of talent, serious talent.

The British GP is one of the GP’s I remember most fondly. In 2008, my debut year, I got my first podium in the world championship at just fifteen. It’s a great memory! Last year I managed to win so I’m intending on trying to win again this weekend.

The weather in England is very fickle and you can’t forget that rain is always a possibility. Even though I always prefer racing in dry conditions, I’ll have to make the most of every type of condition to tune up the bike for the race.

Who’s really doing great at the moment is my brother, and I want to give him all my support so he repeats the good result he got in Brno and keeps improving as he has been doing. Go on Alex!

I also want to mention my fans who are the best. They’re going to be there supporting me from the stands (Silverstone Grandstand six), and I’ll try to do my best as always to reflect the effort they make.

Question of the week
My question is: What would you like to be if you weren’t a MotoGP™ rider? From Isabergondo.

Hahaha…well, I have thought about it. And if I’m honest with you, I think I’d be a motorcycle mechanic. I suppose I’d find a way to get my own garage, and I’d be there fixing bikes all day. It’s what I most enjoy.

Thanks a lot for reading, everybody. It’s appreciated

Marc
