Marquez Blog: Thank you for your encouragement

As many of you know, last week I fell whilst training on my mountain bike with my brother in Cervera…

In his latest official blog for boxrepsol.com Marc looks ahead to the Motul Grand Prix of Japan after crashing out of the race at Aragon:

Hello everyone,

I would like to thank you all once again for the encouraging messages that you sent me via social media over the past few days.

As many of you know, last week I fell whilst training on my mountain bike with my brother in Cervera. It was pretty unlucky because I ended up breaking my left pinky finger. Fortunately, it’s not so serious to prevent me from travelling to Japan, in fact I’m already here!

I know that I won’t be at 100% and the circuit at Motegi is very demanding, my injury will definitely cause me pain. However, yesterday I was with Doctor Mir and it seems as though everything is healing fine.

Just to be safe, since the operation I’ve been taking it easy at home and haven’t really done anything. That’s what the doctor ordered! Meanwhile, like I said before, I was able to see all the messages you were sending me.

Coming to Motegi is something very special for us. It’s a circuit that I like and it’s Honda’s home. I also have some very fond memories here after claiming the World Championship here last year! I will always have a very special memory of this GP.

Tomorrow we have a promo event, but afterwards it’s off to the circuit with the whole team to put in some hard work. The coming weeks will be demanding because we’ve got three Grand Prix in a row. So it’s time to get focused!

Question of the week
I’m sure you have a lot of free time during your flights with nothing to do. What do you usually do during this down time? What kind of music do you normally listen to? Question from Ana Gómez

Hey Ana,
During those long flights the most important thing to do is sleep. I tend to eat early since I always have to eat well and afterwards I watch a flick. In the airplanes they usually have recently released films and I try to watch those ones. But, the rest of the time I try to sleep because jet lag can affect you, and obviously, it’s really important to arrive to the circuit well rested.

Best,

Marc
