Pedrosa Blog: Next stop Sepang

The Phillip Island Circuit is a complicated one; it isn’t an easy route. Yet in spite of the results, I’m not unhappy.

In his latest official blog for boxrepsol.com Dani looks back on a spectacular Australian GP:

Hey everyone,

The Phillip Island Circuit is a complicated one; it isn’t an easy route. Yet in spite of the results, I’m not unhappy. I think our performance was acceptable and we raced at a good pace.

It is a shame that I fell short with Crutchlow and later we weren’t unable to catch up to the race leaders. But as I already mentioned, we were racing with similar times.

Phillip Island is a circuit is next to the sea, which makes it a very beautiful place, even though this sometimes leads to risks with seagulls, as you’ve seen in the past. Other seasons we’ve been able to take advantage of this beauty by going running around the area and enjoying its ecosystem. Unfortunately we weren’t able to do that this year, too bad!

Like in previous years, the Grand Prix ended late. The race began at 16:00 local time, causing it to finish very late, however, we still had time to go out to dinner and spend some time with friends.

I’m now anxious for the Malaysian GP to start soon! I’m sure we’ll give it our all in Sepang. We have experiences on that circuit from the pre-season so I hope that we will be able to go as fast as we can on the first day and that we’ll have a great race.

Question of the week:
When you watched televised races as a kid and the great riders of the Repsol Honda Team appeared, did you ever image you’d be one of them? Question from Isabergondo.

Hi Isabergondo,

Thanks for your question. When I was a kid and watched races on TV, I pretended I was one of them. I had the jumpsuit and I raced around the house. I dreamed and played for hours! I think that enthusiasm was the key that made me into a motorcycle rider.

Best wishes,

Dani Pedrosa
