Marquez Blog: Ready for the test sessions in Jerez

Today, we are travelling to Jerez to begin a three-day test. We will work in particular on the new electronics and the new tires...

In his latest official blog for boxrepsol.com Marc Looks forward to his team’s Jerez test:

Hi everyone!

In my last post, I told you that I had received the 2014 National Sport Award, so I wanted to start off today by telling you all about this and how special it was.

At the awards ceremony, it was such an honour to be in attendance with other top athletes such as Carlos Sainz Jr., Nairo Quintana, the women’s gymnastics team, the women’s football team, among others.

My brother Alex was also recognized for his Moto3 Championship title last season, and being able to attend this kind of event with him made it even more special.

Afterwards, we were able to share an incredible experience together for the first time. I was able to organize the “Junior Motor Camp” in Rufea with 20 kids, and it was truly amazing. Spending time with such enthusiastic children is gratifying and incredibly rewarding. I’d like to thank my brother and the camp monitors for lending me a hand, especially with the youngest ones. We had a great time! I’m sure we’ll do it again next year!

We even had the opportunity to meet and speak with Nico Rosberg, a spectacular driver. Just imagine how excited the kids were! It was a treat to have him come all the way to Rufea.

Today, we are travelling to Jerez to begin a three-day test. We will work in particular on the new electronics and the new tires. These two areas are very important, and we need to ride as much as possible to see where we can improve.

To finish off the week, we are going to have a dinner with the fan club on Saturday in Cervera. It has become a tradition, and its a day that I truly enjoy.

Next week, I will write my last post of the season, so now it’s your chance to send all of your questions!

Question of the week:

What part of Cervera do you like the most? Andrea.

Hi Andrea.
I love the city’s historic centre. Its a great place to get lost and enjoy one of Catalonia’s most beautiful cities. I also really enjoy Cervera’s surrounding areas where I go to train on my bicycle. I love to ride along the different routes.

Best wishes,

Marc Marquez
