Quartararo: “We started our first true test yesterday”

Fast Frenchman Fabio Quartararo beings his 2016 campaign earnest at Valencia as conditions improve.

Earlier in the week, Fabio Quartararo and his Leopard Racing squad held a private test at the Montmelo circuit in Barcelona. High winds and poor track conditions saw them unable to collect much data, as such all involved were pleased that conditions improved on Friday in Valencia and work was able to begin properly. While the weather was still far from ideal, Quartararo was able to set a competitive time and improve his feeling on the KTM when entering a corner. Leopard Racing and several other teams now head directly to the Jerez circuit for yet for private testing, the first official test taking place in early March.

Fabio Quartararo: “I think that from my viewpoint, we started our first true test yesterday. At Montmelo, the conditions were not the best and it was very windy. In Valencia, the track was perfect: we tried many new approaches on every detail of the bike; it was a pity that the rain yesterday afternoon put a spoke in the wheels, so to speak! Today however, we managed to get a rather good time on the bike, completing more than eighty laps. There were many positive aspects, especially the entry into the curve. No rest for the Team, as we now head to Jerez!"
