Iannone on first win: “It’s an incredible feeling”

First victory for the Ducati Team rider, and first Ducati win since 2010

Andrea Iannone took pole position in the final few seconds of qualifying on Saturday at the Red Bull Ring, but the Italian had a little more breathing space on Sunday as teammate Andrea Dovizioso proved unable to get quite close enough on the final lap to launch an assault. The victory was the first for the team since Casey Stoner’s initial departure to Honda, and the first 1-2 since Phillip Island in 2007.

Andrea Iannone (P1):  “It’s an incredible feeling. It’s very difficult to explain the emotion…it’s my first victory in the MotoGP class with the Ducati bike…I started in this class with this bike and I’ve worked for these four years with this incredible group…and they’ve given me 100% support. I know in the end I finish my contract with Ducati, but I think this is a very good present.”
